Kumaryasavam

Kumaryasavam is an  Ayurvedic  liquid medicine used in the treatment of gastritis, urinary tract disorders etc. Kumaryasavam contains 5 – 10 % of self generated alcohol in it. Kumari means Aloe vera

Kumaryasava Dose: 12 – 24 ml. one or two times a day, usually advised after food. If needed, it can be mixed with equal quantity of water.

Kumaryasava uses:  Kumaryasav is used in the treatment of abdominal distention, bloating, respiratory conditions like cough, cold, wheezing, piles, vataroga and certain neurological conditions.

 

Classical indications of Kumaryasavm:

  • Bala, Varna, Agni Deepana – improves strength, skin complexion and digestion power.
  • Bruhmana – It provides nourishment to the body. Useful in weight gain treatment
  • Rochana – improves taste, useful in anorexia
  • Vrushya – acts as aphrodisiac
  • Paktishoola nivarana – useful in relieving abdominal pain due to gastritis and digestive tract disorders
  • Udara roga – ascites, constipation
  • Ugra Kshaya – chronic tuberculosis or severe emaciation
  • Meha – urinary tract disorders, diabetes
  • Udavarta – bloating
  • Apasmara – epilepsy
  • Mutrakruchra – dysuria– difficulty in micturation.
  • Apasmruti – improve memory
  • Shukradosha – sperm disorders
  • Ashmari –  urinary calculi (stones)
  • Krimi – intestinal worm infestation
  • Raktapitta – bleeding disorders

  2. Guda – Jaggery – 4.8 kg
  3. Makshika – Honey –2.4 kg
  4. Pakva Loha – Loha Bhasma – Iron calx – 24 g
  5. Shunti – Ginger rhizome – 24 g
  6. Maricha – Pepper – fruit – 24 g
  7. Pippali – long pepper fruit – 24 g
  8. Lavanga – clove – flower bud – 24 g
  9. Twak – cinnamon – bark – 24 g
  10. Ela – cardamom – 24 g
  11. Patra – Cinnamomum tamala – leaf – 24 g
  12. Nagakeshara – Mesua ferrea – stamen – 24 g
  13. Chitraka – Leadwort – Plumbago zeylanica – root – 24 g
  14. Pippali moola – long pepper root – 24 g
  15. Vidanga – False black pepper – fruit – 24 g
  16. Gajapippali – Java Long pepper – Piper chaba – Fruit – 24 g
  17. Chavya – Piper chaba – Fruit – 24 g
  18. Hapusha – Juniperus communis – Fruit – 24 g
  19. Dhanyaka – Coriander – seed  – 24 g
  20. Kramuka – Betel nut – 24 g
